Lyra Celtica

Lyra Celtica play a very exciting and entertaining brand of Celtic and traditional music and song on a large variety of instruments.
The members of Lyra Celtica are Frankie McGuire on vocals, bodhran percussion and thistles, Lynn Tocker on accordion, with Mark Canning on guitar and various other stringed instruments.
Lyra Celtica are very busy on the Folk festival circuit having recently appeared at both the Glenfarg Folk Feast and at the Girvan Folk Festival. In July they have been booked for a month long tour of the USA.
Lynn Tocker has her own very innovative style of playing the accordion. In 1987 she was voted the BBC Young Traditional Musician of the Year. Previously she was a member of the Kathryn Tickell Band.
Frankie McGuire is a virtuoso on the bodhran as well as being a fine singer. He is in great demand in Russia as well as being a tutor on the Newcastle Traditional Music Course.
