Stephen Quigg of the McCalmans

Stephen Quigg has appeared at Montrose Folk Club on several previous occasions as a member of the legendary Scottish Folk Group, the McCalmans.
The most recent occasion was in 2010 when the McCalmans appeared at Montrose Folk Club during their year long farewell tour.
Stephen is now again establishing a solo career, both in Scotland and in Europe, where the McCalmans were exceptionally popular. Prior to joining the McCalmans in 2001, Stephen had already established a reputation as a solo performer.
Like the McCalmans, Stephen is dedicated to the music and the songs of Scotland. He accompanies himself on guitar and bodhran and sometimes on banjo. On account of his outstanding voice, he easily captures the attention of any audience.
With effortless ease, similar to the repertoire of the McCalmans, Stephen blends traditional material with songs of a more contemporary date to keep the material fresh.
