Tannahill Weavers
Date: Tuesday 8 June 2010
The Tannahill Weavers are one of Scotland's premier Folk Bands. They bring the dynamic sound of traditional Celtic music to any venue where they perform.
From reflective ballads to footstomping reels and jigs, the variety and range of the material which they perform is matched only by their enthusiasm and lively spirits. The music may be Celtic, but the drive and enthusiasm are akin to straight ahead Rock and Roll.
The band are: - founder member Roy Gullane on guitar and lead vocals, one of Scotland's finest fiddle players, John Martin, on fiddle, cello, viola and vocals, Phil Smillie, the other original member of the Band, on flute, whistles, bodhran and vocals, with newest band member, Colin Melville on highland bagpipes, Scottish smallpipes and whistles.
