Mick West is considered by many to be one of the finest current performers of Scottish Folk Song. He was the winner in 2006 of the Scottish Folk Singer of the Year Award at the Annual Scottish Trad Music Awards.

Mick West is equally comfortable with either contemporary or traditional Scottish Songs. He also contributed to the classic series of "The Songs of Robert Burns" on Linn Records.

The other members of the Mick West Band are Frank McLaughlin on guitar and pipes and Steve Lawrence on Guitar and various other stringed instruments.

As a member of Iron Horse, Steve Lawrence toured worldwide during the Nineties. He is now a much sought after musician having played on more than 50 commercial releases as well as touring with Tannas, Calluna and Donny Munro.

The Band is enhanced by the unique guitar accompaniments and intricate technique of Frank McLaughlin, who is also a member of the Newcastle-based four piece, Tod's Assembly.
