John Doyle

The talents of John Doyle as a Guitarist, Songwriter, Vocalist and Producer have played an essential role in the ongoing renaissance of Irish Traditional Music.
John Doyle was the Singer and the Guitarist with the Irish-American super group, Solas. He pioneered a rhythmic, sophisticated approach to Irish guitar accompaniment, setting a new standard for the instrument.
Since leaving Solas, John Doyle has worked in a duo with Liz Carroll. Earlier this year, John and Liz entertained President Obama at the Annual St.Patrick's Day Luncheon at the Capitol Building in Washington D.C.
Now the duo have received a 2010 Grammy nomination for their CD "Double Play". They have been nominated for Best Album in the Traditional World Music Category. The Grammy Awards will be televised live on CBS from the Staples Centre in Los Angeles on 31st January.
John Doyle will not actually be present at the Grammy Awards, since he will be playing at the Celtic Connections Festival as a member of the House Band for the world-famous Transatlantic Sessions Concerts, which form the Finale to the Festival.
