Martin Simpson is currently one of the most popular performers on the UK Folk scene. He is a multiple winner at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards for both 2008 and 2009.
He has always been an outstanding guitar player, whether performing blues or traditional material. However, in recent years he has also become a great singer and a fine songwriter. He performed one of his own exceptional songs "Never Any Good" at the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards 2008, accompanied by Kate Rusby and Danny Thompson.
