The Alba Quartet was formed in 2003. Its members have all been students at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music in Glasgow. All four are successful musicians in their own right, and as a group they are winning critical acclaim. In 2006 they were selected for the inaugural Enterprise Music Scotland residency project, designed to encourage and support fine chamber music playing in Scotland, which has led to performances throughout the country. The quartet made their London debut in April this year.

At the Links the Albas will perform two wonderful works: Schubert's "Death and the Maiden" quartet in D minor and Ravel's one and only work for the genre, in F major.
