A visit to Montrose Folk Club by Michael Marra is always one of the highlights of the season.
Michael Marra is deservedly regarded now as probably the best singer and songwriter in Scottish Music. Fondly known as the "Bard of Lochee" he is regarded by many as the Scottish equivalent of the famous American Songwriter, Randy Newman.
The songs written by Michael Marra cover the whole spectrum of popular music. He is an exceptionally talented writer, artist and performer. He has written the music for a number of plays at the Dundee Rep Theatre, performs in a duo with the famous Scottish Poet, Liz Lochhead and has even developed a new career as a photographic artist.
