Born in Scotland but resident in Canada for most of his life, David Francey is now one of the leading Singer / Songwriters on the Canadian Folk Music Scene. For his appearance at the Links Hotel as part of his Scottish Tour, David Francey will be accompanied on Guitar and various other stringed instruments by Craig Werth.
Over the past few years, David Francey has won numerous awards in Canada for both his song writing and performance. IN only 6 years, he has won 3 JUNO Awards and received 4 nominations. The JUNO is the Canadian equivalent of the Grammy. In 2007, he received a JUNO in the Roots & Traditional Solo Category.
In addition, in December 2007, David Francey received the Canadian Folk Music Award for Best Singer - Contemporary. For the Canadian Folk Music Awards he had been nominated in 3 categories, Best Album, Best Singer and Best Songwriter.
